Becoming a “Bird Nerd”
As difficult and alienating as the Pandemic was, there are many of us who found our creative side during that time of isolation. For me, I discovered the world outside and learned how to use my camera that had been collecting dust for years. As time went by, friends and family encouraged me to share some of my photos and I was more than happy to contribute something that could bring joy to many during an uncertain time.
While I don’t have the artistic talent of my Grandmother, I do enjoy turning some of my photos into digital art - bridging the gap between my childhood and the present digital age. In addition to birds, I have now become a “butterfly farmer” growing host and nectar plants for native SC butterflies and raising them in enclosures. They too have become amazing subjects to observe and photograph.
